Official Profile[]
Appearance[]
The Hydra takes on the form of a blue dog-like serpent, with pink fangs, heart-shaped noses and baggy eyes. One head seems to stay upside down. And one keeps their eyes formally shut.
Personality[]
They seem to be observant, friendly, and outgoing.
Biography[]
Hotel Transylvania[]
They are one of the monsters that complain to Dracula about the room service, as well as trying to book a massage. They are seen in the gym during the charades and later in the pool. The Hydra attends the first party. After it was discovered that Jonathan was a human, the Hydra is among the monsters trying to check out of the hotel. Hydra is last seen at the final party scene.
Hotel Transylvania 2[]
The Hydra makes only a split second appearance at the beginning, walking on the wedding rug, along with Blobby, a giant spider, a herd of sheep, and the Werewolf pups, making the rug filthy.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation[]
The Hydra appears on the cruise vacation with every other monster. In one scene, one of the Hydra's heads greet Ericka as she walks by. Hydra can also be seen gambling with Frank and other monsters in the Atlantis casino, cheating as a few heads peek at Frank's cards. During the scene where the Kraken was under Abraham Van Helsing's control, the Hydra was picked up by the Kraken and was nearly eaten alive, but upon hearing a catchy song Johnny plays, the Kraken sets the Hydra gently down and dances.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania[]
Trivia[]
- The Hydras are based off of the Lernaean Hydra of Greek mythology.
- Contrary to most depictions of the Hydra as a snake and/or reptile, this version is notably more mammalian in appearance and covered with blue fur.
- Even though they share a single body, one of the Hydra's heads seems to be a female (or at least one male has a female personality).
