The Legacy is the oceanliner, captained by Ericka Van Helsing. She intends to use the ship, to trap and destroy all monsters for the honor of her great grandfather, Abraham Van Helsing.
Before seeing Ericka and developing, feelings for her (not realising that she's related to Abraham Van Helsing), Drac's initially unimpressed by the cruise, pointing to his daughter Mavis and the rest of the gang, that it's basically just "a hotel on the water" (since pretty much all the activities and services on the ship are also offered back, at Hotel Transylvania).
The boat staff is entirely composed of fishmen, who are calmly expressed and look like enormous tuna with two big human feet instead of their caudal fins. The boat, unlike the Hotel Transylvania, has a day care where parents can deposit their children to take advantage of the activities offered at the passenger.

- The ship's main design is based on the RMS Titanic (a White Star Line ocean-liner, which became famous, after sinking on her maiden voyage), and the RMS Queen Mary in addition to elements from the RMS Lusitania, RMS Mauretania, and other ocean liners of the Cunard Line.
- It's name the "Legacy" is possibly named after Ericka fulfilling her grandfather's goal of ridding the world of monsters.
- The “Legacy” has five funnels. In real life, the only passenger ship to have five funnels was the SS Great Eastern.
- The ship first appeared on the back cover of a book that Mavis was reading during the short, Puppy!.
- The Legacy appears to be similar in size to a galaxy-class starship.
