Zombie Michelangelo is a recurring builder and artist.
Lydia hires him to paint Mavis in Portrait of Mavis as a Young Vampire
Lydia mentions he was the one who painted her own portrait in the Hall of Draculas.
Given that tradition seems to be that these paintings are done after receiving a cape in the Fangceañera, this would make him incredibly old.
Lydia was described as 40 years old 1200 years ago, making her 1240, so her own Fanceanera at 115 years old would have been approximately 1125 years ago.
The historical Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni lived from 6 March 1475 – 18 February 1564. Even if one assumes he painted Lydia within a year of his death (1565) that would require the present year to be 2690.
Since later movies establish an earlier year, there could be several explanations:
- Lydia had to wait far longer than her Fangceanera to get a portrait
- Lydia had multiple portraits, Michelangelo only painted the most recent one
- this is not the historical Michelangelo Simoni
- he IS but he lived during an earlier time
- time travel
The 2nd explanation, while simplest, is not likely as Lydia reminds Mavis that the painting "will hang for all eternity and there are no re-paints"
